Mate Global LLC ("MATE") acts as an intermediary for booking accommodations, excursions, and other travel-related services ("Third-Party Services"). By joining a MATE Trip or Experience, you acknowledge and agree to our Liability Waiver, Privacy Policy, Payment & Refund Policy and the terms outlined below:
Third-Party Independence
The accommodations, activities, and services included in our Trips are operated by independent providers ("Service Providers") who are not employed or directly controlled by MATE. While we carefully select and collaborate with reputable partners, we cannot guarantee or be held liable for their actions, service quality, or omissions.
What You Can Expect From Us
We work hard to ensure our partners meet high standards of safety, professionalism, and reliability. If a problem arises with a Third-Party Service, we'll support you in addressing the issue — however, we are not liable for circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:
- Delays, changes, cancellations, or service interruptions caused by third-party providers.
- Losses, injuries, or damages resulting from their actions or negligence.
- Unforeseen events or force majeure circumstances, such as natural disasters, political instability, or emergencies.
Understanding the Risks
By choosing to travel with MATE, you acknowledge that all travel carries inherent risks. You agree to release Mate Global LLC from liability for events beyond our reasonable control and accept that any complaints or claims related to third-party services must be resolved directly with the respective provider.
Need Help?
If something doesn't go as expected with a Third-Party Service, please let us know promptly. We'll make every reasonable effort to help — but financial responsibility for third-party issues does not fall on MATE.
BEFORE YOU PACK YOUR BAGS
By joining a MATE experience, you confirm that:
- You are at least 21 years old.
- You have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
- This agreement forms a legally binding contract between you and Mate Global LLC.
MATE does not make any express or implied warranties regarding the Trips, services, or activities provided. Our responsibilities and liabilities are limited as described in this terms.
We may revise these Terms periodically. Your continued participation or use of our services constitutes acceptance of any updates.
By joining a Trip, you also agree to our Privacy Policy, which outlines how we collect, handle, and protect your personal data.
WHAT MAKES THE MATE EXPERIENCE UNIQUE
Here’s what you can expect when you join a MATE journey:
- Live and work from inspiring destinations, with handpicked accommodations.
- Dive into weekend adventures and authentic local experiences.
- Connect with a built-in community of curious, like-minded remote professionals and travelers.
How It Works
We collaborate with trusted third-party partners ("Service Providers") to deliver housing, activities, and transportation. These providers operate independently, and although we choose them carefully, MATE is not responsible for their actions, performance, or service delivery.
Travel Smart, Stay Flexible
Travel inherently involves risks, and by joining a MATE Trip, you acknowledge and accept that we cannot guarantee your personal safety during a Trip.
We reserve the right to modify the itinerary if needed — whether for safety, comfort, or unexpected logistical reasons.
By sharing your contact details with us, you agree to receive important updates, promotional offers, and trip-related communications from MATE.
WHO'S THIS FOR?
We welcome open-minded, adventurous, and respectful travelers who are ready to connect, explore, and co-live in harmony. But to protect the experience for everyone, we reserve the right to accept, decline, or remove participants at any time, for reasons including (but not limited to):
- Behavior that creates danger, distress, or discomfort for others.
- Failure to respect local laws or payment terms.
- Repeated negative impact on group dynamics or the environment.
Participants who are removed from a Trip for these reasons will not be eligible for a refund.
What You Need to Join
You're responsible for meeting all entry requirements, including valid passports, visas, and any necessary vaccinations. Not having the correct documentation will not be considered grounds for a refund.
Health, Safety & Insurance
We want you to enjoy the journey — and to do that safely, all participants must:
- Disclose any medical conditions that may affect your ability to fully participate.
- Complete a form with your international emergency medical insurance details. If it is found that you do not have medical insurance, or have medical insurance that is insufficient, you bear the associated risks.
- Have valid travel insurance that includes:
- Medical expenses & emergencies.
- Evacuation & repatriation.
- Trip cancellation & interruptions.
- Personal liability.
MATE may request proof of coverage before your Trip begins. If you fail to meet these requirements, you accept full responsibility for any associated risks.
PAYMENTS, PRICING & HOW IT WORKS
How Payments Work
All payments must be made according to the Payment & Refund Policy available on our website. Please make sure to review it carefully before confirming your spot.
Pricing Transparency
Trip prices are published on our official channels and may change at any time. That said, once you've paid your deposit, we guarantee the price you booked — no surprises, no sudden increases.
No Retroactive Discounts
If the price of a trip or expedition decreases after you've made your initial payment, your original price remains valid. We do not issue refunds or reductions in future payments.
CHANGED YOUR PLANS?
How to Cancel
All cancellations must be made in writing via email. Verbal or social media messages won't be accepted.
Our Refund Policy
All refunds are issued in accordance with the Payment & Refund Policy available on our website. Please review it carefully before confirming your spot, as it outlines all terms related to cancellations, fees, and deadlines.
24-Hour Grace Period
If you book more than 45 days before the trip start date, you're eligible for a full refund within 24 hours of booking — just note that credit/debit card fees are non-refundable.
Important Conditions
- Refunds are only issued for the reasons listed in these Terms.
- We do not provide refunds in response to threats of bad reviews or social media posts.
- False, defamatory, or misleading online claims about cancellations may lead to legal action.
- Your booking is personal and non-transferable — you cannot gift or resell your spot. Your spot cannot be filled by anyone but you.
- Participants who do not attend the Trip are considered "no-shows" and are not eligible for a refund.
- Early departures are non-refundable.
- In the rare case that Mate Global LLC ceases operations or declares bankruptcy, refunds will not be issued.
INVOICES & PAYMENT PROCESSING
Invoices for trips, deposits, and any additional services booked through MATE will be issued upon confirmation of your participation. These invoices may be sent either directly by MATE or by the third-party platform or provider managing your booking or payment, depending on the specific service or destination.
Please note: In many cases, we use external booking platforms to process payments and send official receipts and confirmations.
DISCOUNTS, PROMOTIONS AND INCENTIVES
How Discounts Work
MATE may occasionally offer discounts, special promos, or limited-time deals. These benefits are:
- Non-transferable.
- Valid only within their specified timelines.
- Subject to cancellation or adjustment at MATE's sole discretion.
If a discount is misused — for example, using a "couples" code for a solo booking — MATE reserves the right not to apply the offer.
Discounts of any type (except friends discount) cannot be used on early bird prices.
Combining Discounts
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, discounts and incentives cannot be combined for the same booking.
Participant Incentives
We love rewarding our community! From time to time, we may offer referral bonuses or other incentives (like "Bring a Friend" promos). These can be changed or withdrawn at any time, without prior notice.
TRAVEL REFUNDS
Please note that no refunds will be provided for flights, transportation, or other travel-related expenses incurred by participants before, during, or after the trip or expedition.
Participants who arrive late, depart early, or miss any portion of the trip for any reason will not be eligible for a refund. Similarly, unused services or activities will not be reimbursed.
MATE and its affiliates are not liable for cancellation fees or penalties imposed by airlines or other transportation providers, including non-refundable ticket costs to or from the cities associated with the trip.
DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
You are financially responsible for any damage, loss, or breakage caused to property during your stay, whether it occurs in a: MATE coliving space, House or apartment, Hostel or hotel, Coworking area or event venue.
Intentional or negligent damage may result in removal from the Trip without refund, and we reserve the right to seek reimbursement for any repair or replacement costs.
GUESTS & ROOM SHARING: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Bringing a Guest?
If you’re staying in a private room and wish to invite a guest who is not part of the MATE group:
- A nightly guest fee will apply (typically between €30–€50, depending on location).
- If your guest joins any activities or excursions, additional charges will apply.
- Guest stays are limited to a maximum of 3 consecutive nights.
- If your guest isn't participating in the trip and plans to stay more than 3 nights, please contact us — we'll evaluate the situation and pricing case by case.
Want Your Guest to Join the Trip?
If your guest would like to participate fully in the MATE experience (meals, tours, coworking, events), they’ll be considered an additional participant and:
- Will pay a participation fee covering ~30% of the accommodation cost.
- Will be charged 100% of the cost of included services and activities.
- This option is available only in private rooms.
PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY
Your Health, Safety & Peace of Mind

Before traveling, we strongly recommend:
- Having valid medical travel insurance.
- Staying up-to-date on recommended vaccinations.
- Being aware of the inherent risks of travel — including illness, injury, or unexpected disruptions.
By participating in a MATE experience, you acknowledge and accept these risks.
Our Safety Standards
We follow safety guidelines designed to minimize risks wherever we go. However, travel is unpredictable — and while we do our best, we can't guarantee that accidents or emergencies won't happen.
By participating in a MATE trip or expedition, you acknowledge and accept that risks are inherent in travel, and you release MATE from any liability or responsibility for incidents that may occur.
